King's Signet Ring Anointing Oil
Throughout Scripture, the king's signet ring was a symbol of authority, identity, covenant, and royal inheritance. A decree sealed with the king's signet carried the full authority of the king himself and could not be revoked. In the book of Esther, King Ahasuerus instructed Mordecai to write on behalf of the Jewish people and "seal it with the king's signet ring—for no document written in the king's name and sealed with his ring can be revoked." (Esther 8:8). The signet represented the king's power, his authority, and the certainty of his word.
Through Jesus Christ, we have been adopted as sons and daughters of the King of Kings and entrusted with His authority on the earth. Chuck Pierce writes, "You too are a signet ring. You represent the King's authority on the earth." Because of Christ's death, resurrection, and victory over sin, we have been commissioned to proclaim His Kingdom, stand against the works of the enemy, and walk in the authority He has graciously given to those who belong to Him. As Scripture reminds us, "Christ Jesus... was raised to life and is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us." (Romans 8:34).
