God’s Greatest Gift

God’s Greatest Gift

Wednesday, July 10, 2024

INTRODUCTION: Our heavenly father loves us so much! He gave his one and only Son, as a precious gift to us to be in a living relationship with him. Many of us have trouble receiving and accepting gifts, especially something so special as God's love. We are not worthy and we are not deserving but God’s love makes us worthy. He does not want us to live our lives in the darkness and shame, he wants us to fully receive his salvation and love that he gave his one and only son for us. Are you accepting God’s Greatest Gift in your life? Let us pray and invite God into this moment right now to guide us and open our hearts to what he wants us to know.

INVITATION (prayer): Heavenly Father, You gave your one and only son to be in
relationship with me, please open my heart to receive your love and grace and live my life according to your will. To know that your promises are for me and you want me to graciously receive what you have and want to give. Thank you God so much for loving me and being ever present in my walk with you. In Jesus’s precious and powerful name I pray and believe and receive with faith and gratitude, Amen.

SCRIPTURE: John 3:16-20
16  “For this is how God loved the world: He gave [a]  his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life.  17  God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.

18  “There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God’s one and only
Son. 19  And the judgment is based on this fact: God’s light came into the world, but
people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil.  20  All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed.

CONTEMPLATION:
When we love someone so much and want to give them a gift because they are so special tous, imagine giving this precious gift to your loved one and they didn’t accept it. How would that make you feel? Or if your child spent hours making a gift for you and was so excited to give it to you and when they did, you turned it away and gave it back to them. Can you imagine the confusion and heartbreak and disappointment in your child’s heart and mind? Many of us walk through this life with the inability to receive, truly receive with gratitude. We believe God's promises but wonder, “Are they really for me”. He wants to do a good work in you and in every area of your life and he gave his one and only son to be in relationship with YOU! He is for you and his promises are for you and he wants you to openly receive them and live out his promises and the good plan he has for you but you have to be willing to receive his love and gifts and accept the greatest gift, his son, Jesus Christ, our savior. Ask yourself, are you fully receiving God’s Greatest Gift in your life? Have you fully accepted Jesus, as your savior and living your life in full honor of this precious gift? Do you realize and fully comprehend how much God loves you?

PRAYER PROMPTS:

Heavenly Father, Please show me where I need to receive graciously your love and
blessings in my life…

Help me learn to receive openly your love and blessings and live in agreement with your word… please open my spiritual eyes and guide me in what you want me to see…

BENEDICTION: God loves you and wants you to be blessed by all he has to give. Open your heart and your life today to him and receive with a grateful heart and praise him.
