Still His, Still Here
So, what’s next?
At the culmination of the 40-day communion and “fast” spent writing and finishing this book, everything ended in abundance—with God leading me into a new revelation, both specifically and literally, Revelation 22:2. I’m excited to discover and learn more with Him as He continues to guide me. Again, only God.
“On either side of the river was the tree of life, bearing twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit every month; and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.”
— Revelation 22:2
During a beautiful celebration dinner with friends for the Feast of Booths—sitting outside beneath a makeshift structure in honor of God’s provision in the wilderness—my friend began sharing about a book she had just bought that mentioned healing leaves. The words immediately stirred my spirit and I knew I was to order this book. As that very morning, God had opened my Bible to Ezekiel 47:12:
“By the river on its bank, on one side and on the other, will grow all kinds of trees for food. Their leaves will not wither, and their fruit will not fail. They shall bear every month because their water flows from the sanctuary, and their fruit will be for food and their leaves for healing.”
Intrigued, I looked up every reference to “healing leaves” in Scripture—and there it was: Revelation 22:2.
God had called me to my first full Esther fast that Friday —three days with no food, no water, and no medication—under His clear instruction. An hour before breaking my fast, I sat outside thinking about the “healing leaves” when a delivery truck pulled into our driveway. I suddenly remembered that I had forgotten to order dog food and quickly jumped on Amazon. Right as I confirmed my order, the total came to $222.
At that exact moment, Nick set down a package next to me—the book I had ordered days earlier. God had my attention. I opened the box, took out the book, “The Biblio Diet by Jordan Rubin” and flipped it open—it landed directly on the chapter titled “Healing Leaves.”
I knew in that very moment, this was the beginning to my new life. In the breakthrough moment of fulfilling the Esther fast, God had just revealed a powerful new journey to embark upon.
The evening ended breathtakingly. At a Brandon Lake concert, he began preaching about the woman who touched the hem of Jesus’ garment and was healed, declaring, “There’s more power in the hem of His garment than in the camp of the enemy.” With my arms raised high, and Nick’s and Braven’s arms around me, we worshipped through tears along with thousands of believers as the song Gratitude filled the air.
Now, in this new season, my family and I are following God’s leading always—from planting an orchard to foraging leaves from fruit-bearing trees and cultivating them for healing. To be continued... 😊
If God has led you to read this and you’re wondering how I’m doing, please reach out and find me. I pray He continues to use me in His healing ministry, and I’ll keep sharing the journeys as He sustains me into old age. He promised me eighty-eight years, and I look forward to the second half of my life—completely His.
I pray continually that God will make me a living memorial of His faithfulness, and that through my very existence and testimony, others would find faith, hope, and healing in Him.
1 Peter 1:23 (AMP)
“For you have been born again [that is, reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for His purpose], not of seed which is perishable but from that which is imperishable and immortal, that is, through the living and everlasting word of God.”
And God made me a Chandler, one who makes candles.
God Bless,
